They have to choose between the Lok Sabha seat or state Assembly seat. They have to either give up on their Lok Sabha seat or their state Assembly seat.

However, according to reports, Samajwadi Party leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Azam Khan are likely to continue as the Lok Sabha Members. From the constituencies of Azamgarh and Rampur, both the leaders are Lok Sabha Members.

As of now, in Lok Sabha Samajwadi Party has only five members. In the political atmosphere of the lower house, the Samajwadi Party has no plan to lose their hold. They are not wanting to weaken themselves in the Lok Sabha.

Reportedly, the duo is likely to resign from the assembly membership after some time.

Reportedly, the responsibility of Leader of Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, is likely to be led by Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Yadav.

Akhilesh Yadav on Friday thanked the people of the state for increasing the party’s tally by two-and-a-half times. In a tweet, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Heartiest thanks to the people of Uttar Pradesh for increasing our seats by two-and-half times. We have shown that the seats of the BJP could be decreased. The reduction (in the number of seats) of the BJP will continue. More than half the confusion and deceit ( chalawa’) has been cleared. The rest will be cleared in some days. The struggle will continue in public interest.”
