Bizzare! Mumbai Police Commissioner Receives Request To Find ‘Missing Parrot’

The Police force usually deal with crimes and thefts, maintain law and order, and keep us all safe while we are busy in our lives. They also help find missing people, ornaments, cellphones and what not. But what if they are asked to find a missing bird?

In one such bizarre case, Mumbai police commissioner Sanjay Pandey received an unique request recently.

In a text message, a person sent a query to the Mumbai CP, the top Mumbai cop, about a “missing parrot”.

“Sir..a pet parrot accidentally flew out of my home in Mulund West on 3rd May. I have tried to trace him through my local contacts but failed,” the person wrote in the message.

“So as a final attempt, I am putting out a missing ad in TOI Mumbai edition. But, they have asked me to provide a FIR. I am at the Mulund West PS. Initially, they said they do not provide FIR , only a NC. But now they say they do not provide a NC since it is not a criminal matter. The TOI refuses to release the ad unless the FIR/NC us provided. Pls help in giving me a solution,” the person requested.

It will be certainly interesting to see if the Commissioner Pandey takes cognisance of the request and helps find the person his/her “missing parrot”. But even if the decides to help, how does the police identify and trace a bird that could fly away as per its wish.
