Etawah: A case has been filed against Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav in Safai town of Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah district for violating the Model Code of Conduct outlined by the Election Commission of India.

The complaint was registered against the Samajwadi Party Chief for interacting with media personnel outside polling booth in Safai on Sunday during the third phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh.

Accompanied by his wife Dimple Yadav, the Samajwadi Party Chief, after casting his vote, took potshots at Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.

The complaint alleges that Mr Yadav not only violated the Model Code of Conduct, but also breached the COVID-19 protocols.
