Charanjit Singh Channi CM Face Of Congress Party In Punjab

Chandigarh: Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi today announced Charanjit Singh Channi the CM Face of Punjab In Ludhiana Today. Chief Minister Charanjit Channi and state party chief Navjot Singh were supposedly the top contenders to be the party’s CM face. Rahul Gandhi’s announcement regarding have given the suspense of CM Face of Congress a rest. 

Siddhu and Channi have had sent out their overtures that announcing the CM face will be for the betterment of the party in coming elections. Although it was not a practice in Congres, the top leadership agreed on announcing a CM face before the upcoming elections.

The party thereafter began a opinion polls among the party workers itself. State leaders through publicly issued statement pressurised the Central leadership for a favorable decision.

Channi was fielded from two seats by the party to add he was also included in the star campaigners list for Uttarakhand, while Siddhu was kept aside. These were the clear  indications that the scale were perhaps favouring CM Channi

Former India Cricketer Suresh Raina’s Father Passes Away

Ghaziabad: Former India all-rounder Suresh Raina’s father, Trilokchand Raina, was battling cancer. On February 6 he passed away. Trilokchand, was a military officer. He was master at making bombs in an ordnance factory. He passed away at his Ghaziabad residence.

Raina’s teammates including Harbhajan Singh offered their condolences on social media. “Very sad to hear Suresh Raina’s father @ImRaina RIP uncle ji,” wrote Harbhajan. 

Raina’s father’s ancestral village is ‘Rainawari’ in the Jammu and Kashmir union territory of India. His father left the village after the killings of the Kashmir Pandits in the 1990s. The family settled down in Muradnagar town. His father had a 10,000 rupees salary and he couldn’t afford the high cricket coaching fees for Suresh.

Then Raina was admitted to the Guru Gobind Singh sports college, Lucknow, in 1998. Raina said he always remains careful not to mention anything which would remind his father about the tragedy of Kashmir.
