Congress Pays ‘Hardik Gratitude’ To Hardik Patel Over His Resignation From Gujarat Unit

New Delhi: Hardik Patel, a Patidat leader, resigned from the Grand Old Party on Wednesday, penning a caustic letter to party head Sonia Gandhi, accusing him of singing the BJP’s tune. These are claims made by the BJP, not someone who has left the Congress, according to Congress MP Shaktisinh Gohil. Srinivas BV, the national head of the Youth Congress, posted a letter from Rahul Gandhi with the mysterious phrase, “Those who are terrified, ‘hardik’ gratitude to them.” The tweet read, “Those who stand by truth stand with ideology.”

“If you talk about (party’s) leadership, you were sharing a stage with Rahul Gandhi a few days back. Who stopped you from meeting him? We have internal democracy. There is a thin line between internal democracy & indiscipline. BJP doesn’t have internal democracy,” the party’s Rajya Sabha MP said.

Hardik Patel said in his letter that the Congress was unconcerned for the country or Gujarat. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel has been insulted by the party. He and his community have experienced derision and disdain, and he is both heartbroken and appalled.

“Over the last 3 years I have found that the Congress party and its leadership both at central and state level have been merely reduced to opposing everything, whereas the people always seek an alternative that thinks of their future and is capable of taking India ahead,” Hardik Patel said.

The Patidar leader claimed that the Congress’ top leadership has a general lack of sincerity regarding all matters. “Whenever I met with top leadership, I always had the impression that they were more interested in what messages they had received on their phones and such such petty matters,” he added, adding that Congress leaders are typically abroad when the party and the country need them.

“…big leaders of Congress in Gujarat are far away from issues of Gujarat but are more focussed on ensuring that chicken sandwich for leaders who have come from Delhi is delivered on time,” Hardik Patel wrote.
