Don Mukhtar Ansari Booked Under Gangster Act, Shifted To Lucknow Jail For Court Hearing

Lucknow: In a significant milestone, the Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday filed a complaint under the Gangster Act against former BSP MLA and incarcerated mafia don Mukhtar Ansari. According to the facts, the police have also arrested 12 additional Ansari accomplices in connection with the case involving the use of an ambulance to transfer Ansari to and from the Punjab jail.

Commenting on the case, Aatish Kumar, CO, City Barabanki confirmed that further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, Mukhtar Ansari was carried out of Banda jail in an ambulance early Monday morning and is being transported by road to Lucknow for a court hearing, despite strong security. He was previously taken back from Ropar, Punjab, and imprisoned in the Banda Prison.
