Drinking Wine And Driving Okay In Maharashtra? Mumbai Police Has A Fitting Reply To This Question

Mumbai: A question answer between a Twitter user and Mumbai Police is getting applauds on the microblogging app. Sale of wine in supermarkets and walk-in stores across Maharashtra has been permitted by the government. Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut also supported this call of the State government. Speaking with the ANI News he had stated that wine is not liquor. According to him, if the sale of wine increases, farmers will only get benefit from it. “We’ve done this to double farmers’ income. BJP only opposes but does nothing for farmers,” he added.

Reacting on the remarks made by Sanjay Raut, on the microblogging site questioned Mumbai Police that if he drinks wine and then drives, will he be “put behind the bars or will be shown the nearest bar? Many of the app users were impressed by the pun he made. But as he raised question to Mumbai Police, they have a fitting reply to everything.

Responding to the man’s question, Mumbai Police gave a fitting friendly suggestion first and then warned about the consequences he might have to face. First Mumbai Police suggested to board a chauffeur-driven car like a “responsible citizen” after drinking. Further warnng them they mentioned that “if the breathalyzer detects the alcohol content in the wine” he will have to be their guest behind the bars. Mumbai Police’s tweet read: “Sir, we recommend your raise your bar & ride in a chauffeur-driven car, after drinking, like a ‘responsible citizen’. Else if the breathalyzer detects the alcohol content in the wine you drank (which it will to be frank), you will have to be our guest behind the bars.”

People were impressed with the reply of Mumbai Police, and further demanded to keep a tab on Raut’s car as he believes that wine is not liquor.
