For Republic Day Celebration Facial Recognition Systems, Anti-drone Teams Deployed

New Delhi: After the improvised explosive device (IED) was found at Ghazipur Flower Market ahead of the Republic Day and later diffused, the Delhi Police have fortified areas in and around Rajpath with multi-layer security cover, installed facial recognition systems (FRS) and over 300 CCTVs.

Deepak Yadav, DCP, New Delhi, said that apart from the terror threat, the rise in cases of COVID-19 is also a major challenge for the force.

He has briefed the police personnel about the necessary precautions that need to be followed and has tightened the security arrangements in New Delhi.

โ€œWe have intensified the process of verification of tenants and visitors in hotels in and around the New Delhi area. A quick reaction team (QRT) will be deployed to respond to any untoward situation. We are also deploying an anti-drone team to keep a watch on any flying object breaching security cordon,โ€ he said.

He added that around 300 cameras with FRS-enabled facilities have been deployed in and around Rajpath. The systems have a database of 50,000 suspected criminals.

โ€œDue to COVID-19-related restrictions only 4,000 tickets will be available and a total of 24,000 people will be allowed to attend the event,โ€ official said.

โ€œReligious Conversions Would Break Indiaโ€: BJPโ€™s Prabal Pratap Singh

ANI
Singh

Singh said, โ€œThe people of the city are thinking about the arrival of the RSS chief in various waysโ€

Jashpur: Religious conversion and separation of tribals from their forefathers would break India, said BJP Yuva Morcha vice president Prabal Pratap Singh on Tuesday.

He made the remark while speaking to ANI on Tuesday. Prabal Pratap Singh is the son of late Dilip Singh Judev. Notably, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat unveiled the statue of late Dilip Singh Judev in Jashpur on Monday. Singh said, โ€œThe people of the city are thinking about the arrival of the RSS chief in various ways. But I would like to say that the RSS chiefโ€™s message was that tribal pride is needed not only in India but in the whole world. The pride of tribes is the pride of India.โ€

โ€œThe arrival of the RSS chief gives the message that the entire area in the time of cultural revival, especially Vananchal, which has our roots, has to work together strongly. Because conversion efforts are going on to weaken these roots. By respecting our forefathers, we should not fall into the temptation of other religions, imposed cultures and imposed thoughts,โ€ Singh added.

On the other hand, Kunkuri MLA U D Minj said, โ€œLate Kumar Dilip Singh Judev has been a brave man of the region. Judev had put his honour at stake to bring BJP to power. After that he was ignored. After his death in 2013, the then Chief Minister announced to install his statue even after that it was not installed till 2018. This is painful for the people of this place. Lakhs of rupees were spent on the garden but torn polythene was put on his statue. It used to be a painful thing.โ€

Notably, the RSS chief said, โ€œAll the religions of India have been given to India by the farmers and forest dwellers. The pride of that religion is the pride of the tribal people, therefore it is the pride of India.โ€
