โ€œIf Not Sikh, Then Next PM Will Be Marathaโ€: Former RAW Chief

The next Prime Minister of India will be a Sikh. If a Sikh does not become the Prime Minister, then a Maratha will definitely become the Prime Minister of the country, said Amarjit Singh Dulat, the former head of Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). He made the statement while receiving the Sant Namdev National Award. The Sant Namdev Award Ceremony by Sarhad Institute, Pune was held at the Constitution Club, Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, Dulat predicted that the next Prime Minister of the country would be a Maratha.

Speaking further, Dulat said, โ€œThe work of Saint Namdev Maharaj is universal. We have to find Saint Namdev for the country. I am fortunate to receive an award in the name of such a great saint.โ€

Satyapal Singh Malik, the Governor of Meghalaya and Amarjit Singh Dulat, the former head of RAW were honored with Sant Namdev Award by Sarhad Sanstha. The award was supposed to be presented by NCP president Sharad Pawar, but for some reason he could not attend the ceremony. The event was attended by former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah. The Sant Namdev Award is given by Sarhad Sanstha to eminent persons who have worked for the betterment of relations between Maharashtra and border areas. This honor is named after the thirteenth century saint-poet Namdev. Sant Namdev has a place of honor in Sikhism. Namdeo is believed to have laid his body at Ghuman in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. The award is in the form of a cash prize of Rs One Lakh One Thousand and an insignia.

Bengaluru: On Friday morning, six schools in Bengaluru received a bomb threat. The Bengaluru City Police, along with a bomb disposal unit, have rushed to the two locations to conduct further searches.

โ€œOur local police are checking about it,โ€ Mr Pant said.

There is a drill and as per that the bomb squads have gone there for checking, he added.

The emails arrived between 11 am and 11.10 am, said the officer and the origin is suspected to be the United States. โ€œThe email is mostly a hoax threat. But we are taking it seriously and not leaving anything to chance,โ€ said Rao.

โ€œBased on the email, our teams are checking there at the spotโ€ฆwhen more information comes, it will be shared with you (media),โ€ the Commissioner said.

An officer in the know of the developments said that the contents of the email read: โ€œA very powerful bomb has been planted in your school, attention is not a joke, this is not a joke, a very powerful bomb has been planted in your school, immediately call the police and sappers, hundreds of lives may suffer, including yours, do not delay, now everything is only in your hands!.โ€

Police have evacuated all schools and parents have been asked to pick up their children. Senior officers said a case will be filed after the search operations are over. Meanwhile, a probe into the origin of the email is also underway.
