Mumbai: Against the backdrop of election results in five states, the Maharashtra government presented the state budget for financial year 2022-23 today.
Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented the budget in the legislative assembly at 1 pm. This is the second budget that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government will present in the house.
Maharashtra Economy Growth
Maharashtra’s economy is expected to grow by 12.1 per cent in 2021-22, with agriculture and allied activities by 4.4 per cent, industries by 11.9 per cent and the services sector by 13.5 per cent. Survey also stated that the average share of the state in the national GDP is the highest in the country at 14.2 per cent.
Ajit Pawar also announced that Sambhaji Raje Maharaj’s memorial will be erected in Haveli. Thereby setting aside a provision of Rs 250 crore for the designated work.
Dedication To Legendary Lata Mangeshkar
The budget allocated Rs 100 crore for a music school dedicated to Lata Mangeshkar at Kalina campus of Mumbai university.
3 mobile veterinary schools to be set up for strong livestock for which Rs 10 crore is allocated.
Tribal Welfare
Rs 11,119 crore allocated for the tribal development department.
Social Justice Dept
The budget also allocated Rs 2,876 crore to social justice department. Rs 11,000 crore for the health department allocated.

PWD department has been allocated Rs 15,700 crore for construction of roads and highway

Maharashtra Budget also announced 50 crore each for Agriculture University, Konkan and Parbhani.

BARTI Pune to get Rs 250 crore to implement schemes for backward communities
- More subsidies are to be given for the welfare of farmers.
- A provision of Rs. 13,252 crore has been made to the Water Resources Department.
- Grant of Rs. 75,000 announced for farmers.
- MVA announced to set up Balasaheb Thackeray Agricultural Research Center in Hingoli.
- An extra incentive of Rs 50,000 for the farmers who repay their loans on time.
- 104 irrigation projects to be completed in two years.
