In an incident that has garnered mixed reactions on social media, the wife of the Madhya Pradesh BJP state president had to delete a tweet she posted after being trolled for it.
According to Aaj Tak’s report, on April 16, BJP state president VD Sharma’s wife Dr Stuti Sharma posted a tweet from Jabalpur at around 12 at night. In her tweet, she wrote: “I need a medicine yesterday night all shops were closed only a muslim medicine shop was open at 11.30 pm. Driver n me went to the shop bought the medicine and he said “didi ye wali medicine se neend aati hai kam drop dijiyega how caring and he was a muslim #HinduMuslimUnity”.
People started reacting to the tweet and it quickly went viral. Even leaders from the BJP and the opposition reacted to the tweet. She was also trolled brutally by one section of users. Following such reactions on Twitter, Stuti deleted the tweet. Then the next day, she posted another tweet. In it, she explained the reason for deleting the old tweet.
She wrote: “Deleted the last tweet as it was creating uncessary chaos. Its difficult to share thoughts on a topic of religious fight. Was not aim to hurt anyone’s opinion. Let karma do the rest.”
Delhi BJP spokesperson Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga also responded to this tweet of Stuti Sharma. Tejinder Bagga wrote quoting the tweet: “Chemistism has Religion, but terrorism has No Religion.”
The Congress objected to the deleting of the tweet by Mrs Sharma.. Congress spokesperson K K Mishra tweeted: “Under the roof that teaches the ideological teaching of spreading hatred, “Peace envoys who accepts the truth and is against hostility”. VD Sharma brother will also understand.”
