NIA Raids Premises Of Dawood’s Aides In Mumbai, One Detained

Mumbai: On Monday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided several locations in Mumbai against associates of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim. The locations related to hawala operators were raided too. 

Salim Qureshi aka Salim Fruit, is an associate of detained gangster Chhota Shakeel. As per the PTI reports, officers of the anti-terror agency detained him. He was detained from his residence in Mumbai during the raid. Some important documents were also seized.

“The NIA picked Salim Qureshi up from his residence in the Bhendi Bazar area of south Mumbai,” an official said. 

The NIA raided premises of Ibrahim’s aides in western suburbs like Bandra, Santacruz and Borivali and south Mumbai’s Nagpada and Parel areas.

“Several hawala operators and drug peddlers were associated with Ibrahim and the NIA had registered (a case) in this regard in February. Raids began today,” a statement from the federal agency was cited by ANI.
