‘Partner Swapping’ Racket Busted In Kerala, 7 Arrested, Say Cops: Report

Kottayam: From Karukachal in Kerala on Sunday, seven people have been arrested by cops for their purported involvement in ‘partner swapping racket,’ police reports said. Seven, including husband of a woman who claims that her husband was forcing her for unnatural sex, were arrested, as per the reports.

The racket run by these seven, was busted after the complaint was filed by woman against her husband and police did further investigation.

According to the complaint, the woman was forced into unnatural sex with other men.

During inquiry, we found that the woman’s husband had forced her to have sexual intercourse with others. Further investigation into the matter led us to the gang, they added.

After receiving the complaint, the police formed various teams to nab the accused and intensified the hunt for the accused with the help of the Cyber Cell. Finally, the accused were arrested from Thumboli beach area and Punnapra from Alappuzha district, Kaloor in Ernakulam district and Kooroppada and Aymanam in Kottayam district.

The 26-year-old woman approached the Karukachal police station after being fed up with the continuous intimidation of the husband. It was two years ago that she was made to join a wife-swapping group on social media by the husband. The 32-year-old husband made use of this group for making money and for having sex with other women. But when his torture crossed all limits, she finally sought the police’s help.

The gang is said to have used Telegram, Messenger apps to contact each other.

The accused were arrested from Kottayam, Alappuzha and Ernakulam districts. As the chat groups had thousands of members, a detailed investigation will be conducted, police said.

According to reports, almost 5,000 couples were found active on various social media groups that promote wife swapping, police disclosed.

The police found social media groups offering their members opportunities to indulge in wife swapping, cuckolding, threesomes and unnatural sex, according to a report published by The Times of India. Some groups had over 5,000 members. Many professionals, such as lawyers and doctors, had joined these groups using fake identities. Many people, including women, voluntarily participated in such sexual activities. Some women, however, were forced into such activities by their husbands.

“Many wives who are forced into this against their wishes are showing suicidal tendencies and so we need to investigate with extreme care. Almost 90% of women are not comfortable with it, they were brainwashed into this,” the report quoted an officer as saying.
