Sara Ali Khan Under Glare Of ED, Amid Connections With Conman Sukesh

Mumbai: Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who is in Tihar Jail amid extorting a Delhi businessman’s wife of over Rs 215 crore, gifted Sara Ali Khan, an expensive watch last year India Today sources have said.

With befriending intentions, a Franck Muller watch along with chocolates, was given to Sara Ali Khan, sources added.

Earlier the Enforcement Directorate’s investigation had revealed that Sukesh had given expensive gifts to Canadian-origin actor Nora Fatehi and Sri Lanka-born actor Jacqueline Fernandez.

To Nora he had gifted an expensive BMW car and Jacqueline had received gifts worth over Rs 10 crore from the conman.

To Sara Ali Khan Sukesh had introduced himself as Suraj Reddy, by texting her on WhatsApp. As they chatted on WhatsApp, Sukesh told Sara that he would like to gift her a car as a friendly gesture.

As Suraj Reddy, Sukesh kept sending messages to Sara Ali Khan and insisted on showering her with gifts, sources said.

ED Officials questioned Sara about the gifts. In a letter to the probe agency dated January 14, 2022, the actor told investigators that she constantly refused Sukesh’s offer.

Sara further said that after refusing gifts on many occasions, she finally agreed to receive a box of chocolates from him.

Later on he gifted her a Franck Muller watch along with the chocolates. Frank Muller is a luxury brand whose watches cost lakhs in India.

The ED is not treating Sara Ali Khan as a suspect, but as a potential witness, in the case.

Sukesh is in Tihar jail for extorting Rs 215 from Aditi Singh, the wife of the owner of Ranbaxy, in year 2020-21.
