New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announcing the Budget 2022-23 said that the strategic handover of Air India is over. The government has handed over the Air India back to Tata Group.
Further while announcing the budget at the parliament, she says:
Nirmala said that 400 Vande Bharat trains with higher efficiency for passengers will be developed in the next 3 years.
She said, this budget seeks to lay the foundation and steer the economy in the next 25 years. From India at 75 to India at 100.
On pandemic she said that strengthening of health infra, speedy Vaccination programme implementation and nationwide resilient response to current wave of COVID19 Pandemic are evident to all.
PLI schemes across 14 sectors have achieved a tremendous response and created 60 lakh job opportunities, she said.
She said that chemical-free natural farming will be supported.
Budget reiterates focus on public investment to modernize infrastructure over the medium term, leveraging tech platform of Gati Shakti via a multi-modal approach.
On Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme she said that it has helped 130 lakh MSMEs mitigate the worst impact of the pandemic.
She said, “Digital university to set up for online with focus on ICT using hub and spoke mode.”
On Anganwadi she said that 2 Lakh Anganwadis will be upgraded.
The program of ‘One class, one TV channel’ of PM eVIDYA will be expanded from 12 to 200 TV channels.
Issuance of e-passports with futuristic tech to be introduced in 2022-23.
States to be supported for urban capacity building.
Nirmala said that national highways will be expanded by 25 kms.
Use of Kisan Drones to be promoted for crop assessment, digitization of land records, spraying of insecticides and nutrients.
Focusing on digital resource she said, “All villages should have same access of digital resources as urban areas.”
On PLI schemes she said, “PLI schemes received investment intentions worth Rs 30 lakh crore.”
