Watch: “Modi Stopped Ukraine-Russia War For Three Hours To Rescue Indian Students,” Says Ravi Shankar Prasad

To provide a safe passage to Indian medical students stuck in the conflict zone, Prime Minister Modi had managed to stop the Russia-Ukraine war for three hours, claimed former union minister and senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad.

The former Law Minister, interacting with reporters in Patna on Friday, said the incident took place when the war was at its peak and a large number of Indian medical students were trapped in Ukraine.

“It was a big challenge for the Indian government to evacuate medical students stranded in Ukraine due to war. When PM Modi asked the high commissioners of India in Ukraine and Russia about the evacuation plan, they said that it is possible only when a ceasefire is observed. They also said that the PM was capable of doing it,” Ravi Shankar Prasad claimed.

“Following their suggestions, the PM spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to stop the war so that the Indian medical students could be evacuated from the affected areas. The PM told the leaders that he would not leave his children in a war zone. Following his conversation, the war was stopped for three hours to give safe passage to Indian students. This is the status of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the world,” he further added.

As the war between Russia and Ukraine began and intensified over the time, a large number of Indian medical students were trapped in Kiev, Kharkiv, Mariupol and other cities. The Indian missions in Ukraine and adjoining countries coordinated to evacuate the Indians stuck in the war-torn country. A delegation of senior cabinet minister was also sent to Europe to oversee the evacuation process.

After Outrage, Government Orders YouTube And Twitter To Take Down Controversial Deodorant Ad

New Delhi: The government has requested that two controversial advertisement for a body spray brand be removed from Twitter and YouTube after they triggered a significant backlash for encouraging “rape culture.” The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), which is part of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, judged the ad to be in “severe breach” of their code and against the public interest.

“The video is detrimental to the portrayal of women in the interest of decency or morality,” said the ministry

Responding to growing outrage over an advertisement by Layer’r Shot, the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has stated that the ad is in “serious breach” of their code and against public interest.

After several users tagged the ASCI on Twitter asking them to “take it off the air”, the self-regulatory organisation wrote, “Thank you for tagging us. The ad is in serious breach of the ASCI Code and is against public interest. We have taken immediate action and notified the advertiser to suspend the ad, pending investigation.”

The two advertisement for Layer’r Shot’s body spray have gotten a lot of flak online. A group of guys and a lady appear in both videos, the first in a room and the second in a grocery shop. Several viewers found the men’s joke about taking a “shot” at the woman to be offensive and “disgusting.”

The advertisements are being broadcast on Sony Liv during the first Test match between England versus New Zealand.
