Karnal: Indian Yoga Guru Ramdev Baba lost his cool and threatened the journalist when he asked him about his comments in the past on reducing petrol prices.
During an event in Haryana’s Karnal, a journalist asked Ramdev his comments to the media that people should vote for or chose a government that can provide petrol for ₹ 40 a liter and cooking gas at ₹ 300 a cylinder.
To this question, Ramdev replied, “Yes, I said it, what can you do? Don’t keep asking such questions. Am I your thekedar (contractor) who has to keep answering your questions?”
When the journalist asked the question again, a visibly upset Ramdev, pointing at the journalist, shot back, “I made the comment. Ab kya kar lega (what will you do)? Just shut up. If you ask again, it is not good. Don’t speak like this, you must be the son of decent parents.”
Ramdev said that how will government run the country if taxes are not paid by people, he urged people to work hard. He said, “The government says, if fuel prices are low, they won’t get tax, then how will they run the country, pay salaries, build roads? Yes, inflation should go down, I agree… But people should work hard. Even I wake up at 4 in the morning and work till 10 at night”.
With each rising day, the prices of petrol and diesel are rising as well. Today the prices hiked by nearly 80 paise each. This is the 9th Rise in the last 10 days. The rates have hiked by 6.40 per liter in the last 10 days.
In Delhi the petrol will now cost ₹ 101.81 per liter, yesterday the cost was ₹ 101.01. diesel rates have gone up from ₹ 92.27 per liter to 93.07 per liter today, price notification of state fuel retailers showed.
Speaking of Mumbai rates, the petrol and diesel prices per liter reached ₹ 116.72 and ₹ 100.94 respectively after prices were increased by 84 paise.
