New Delhi: Congress MP Anand Sharma, made his last speech in Rajya Sabha today, as with this session his term ends too. Addressing the Rajya Sabha he slammed the president’s address. He said that whoever wrote the president’s address did injustice to the president.
He said, “This is not sarcasm but whoever wrote it (the President’s Address), did injustice to the President. This challenges the judgment of the people and negates the difficult situation before the country.”
Further on President’s budget speech, he said that it was just a list of government’s achievements. He said, “President’s speech is just a list of achievements of Government. I was thinking who wrote the address should be made answerable. Whoever wrote did injustice to the President.”
He further added, “He questions the idea of ‘merging flames’ saying this is never done, I am also a practicing Hindu. Attacks on Muslims in India tarnish the image of India the world over.”
