“Whoever Wrote President’s Address Did Injustice To…” Said, Anand Sharma

New Delhi: Congress MP Anand Sharma, made his last speech in Rajya Sabha today, as with this session his term ends too. Addressing the Rajya Sabha he slammed the president’s address. He said that whoever wrote the president’s address did injustice to the president.

He said, “This is not sarcasm but whoever wrote it (the President’s Address), did injustice to the President. This challenges the judgment of the people and negates the difficult situation before the country.”

Further on President’s budget speech, he said that it was just a list of government’s achievements. He said, “President’s speech is just a list of achievements of Government. I was thinking who wrote the address should be made answerable. Whoever wrote did injustice to the President.”

He further added, “He questions the idea of ‘merging flames’ saying this is never done, I am also a practicing Hindu.  Attacks on Muslims in India tarnish the image of India the world over.”

Hema Malini Slams Jayant Chaudhary Over His ‘Hema Malini’ Comment

Aleesha Sam

New Delhi: BJP MP Hema Malini came up with sharp comeback for Jayant Chaudhary, who recently targeted and used her name and slammed the ruling party in a public rally ahead of the Uttar Pradesh election.

Responding to the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader’s “I don’t want to be Hema Malini” comment, the Mathura MP and veteran Bollywood actor agreed: “Obviously, he cannot!”

It is difficult to be Hema Malini, she said, even referring to the title of one of her most popular movies, Dream Girl.

“Hema Malini banna mushkil hai… it is very difficult… I have worked so hard to become this Dream Girl… You think Jayant Chaudhary can become Hema Malini? Sahi bola (He is right),” Hema Malini said.

Earlier, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) chief Jayant Chaudhary said he does not want to be Hema Malini while saying one of his party colleagues was asked to join the BJP by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and there were similar talks about him as well. This statement just ahead of the polls has been called out as sexist by several. He alleged that Amit Shah called one of the RLD members to join the saffron party and promised to make him Hema Malini (Lok Sabha MP). “Yogesh got a call from Amit Shah, he said ‘Yogesh aaja, mera Hema Malini bana dunga [Yogesh come, I will make you my Hema Malini,” he said.

After a backlash over the comment, Mr Chaudhary later said he had never meant to deride Hema Malini.

Uttar Pradesh votes in seven phases and the results will be announced on March 10.
