Ahemdabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to buy locally made products. He said that if people will buy only local goods for the next 25 years, the problem of unemployment will come to an end.
PM Modi was speaking after uneviling 108 ft statue of Lord Hanuman in Gujaratโs Morbi via video conferencing on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
โIndia cannot afford to remain stagnant today. Whether we are awake or asleep, we cannot continue to remain where we are. The global situation is such that the entire world is thinking on how to become โaatmanirbharโ (self-reliant),โ PM Modi said.
โI would request the saints of the country to teach people to buy local products only. โVocal for localโ is the in thing. At our homes, we should only use things made by our people. Imagine the high number of people who will get employment due to this,โ he said.
โWe may like foreign-made goods, but these things do not have the feel of the hard work of our people, the scent of our Mother Earth,โ PM Modi said, adding, โIn the next 25 years, if we just use local products, there wonโt be unemployment for our people.โ
On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti PM Modi unveiled a 108 ft Lord Hanuman statue in Gujaratโs Morbi. As per PMO, the Lord Hanuman statue in Gujarat is the second of four statues that are being set up in four directions across country. This is a part of the #Hanumanji4dham project. M Modi, in his address after unveiling the Lord Hanuman statue, stated, โThis is not just a resolution for establishment of Hanuman Jiโs statues but it is also a part of the resolution for โEk Bharat Shreshtha Bharatโ.โ
The first statue in the series was set up in the north in Shimla in 2010, and work on the statue in the south at Rameswaram has also started.
