After Lalu Yadav-led RJD registered a phenomenal win in the constituency of Araria in the bypolls of Bihar that too against a dynamic campaign run by the BJP party, Giriraj Singh, the Union minister has now sparked off a fresh controversy by remarking that the district will turn into a “hub of terror”.
The district of Araria which seemed to have gone completely vacant after Mohammad Taslimuddin, the RJD leader’s demise, it saw a hard election with Nitish Kumar the state’s CM and BJP his ally attempting hard to hold on the parliamentary seat that was mostly Muslim-dominated but only to fail. Sarfaraz Alam Taslimuddin’s son won the seat for RJD.
A series of comments seem to have been flowing in which have been considered by the critics to be communal.
On the other hand, BJP leader Giriraj Singh stated that Araria does not only stand to be a border that is close to Bangladesh and Nepal but is a state that will give rise to a “radical” ideology. Giriraj Singh, who is known to be always making rounds for his provocative statements, said, “This is not only a threat to Bihar but also to the country. It will be a hub of terror.”
As a matter of fact, Sushil Kumar Modi, his party colleague and the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, made quite an explosive statement on Twitter yesterday.
RJD got a lead of 1 Lakh 30 Thousand votes from 2 Minority dominated constituency which led to their victory in Araria.

Hitting out at the remarks made, Lalu’s wife, Rabri Devi retorted, “The cries of Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi and the Modi mania has precipitated which is why they all are anxious.” Calling for an apology from Giriraj Singh, she further said, “The people of Araria have given them a lesson. They should apologize and the people of Araria won’t forgive them in the 2019 elections. Are they terrorists?” She blamed the BJP of depending on “communal colours and rioting”.
More so, during running the campaigns for Bihar bypolls last week, Nityanand Rai, BJP chief for Bihar stated it at a rally that in case the RJD won in Araria, the constituency would become a hub of ISI, the intelligence agency of Pakistan.
