Partha Chatterjee was grilled by the CBI twice in the month of May for the investigation of this alleged scam.
Mumbai: On Saturday, the Enforcement Directorate arrested Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee from his residence in Kolkata after the ED seized Rs. 20 Crores cash during the raid on Friday at his close associate Arpita Mukherjee’s residence in relation to an alleged scam for teacher’s recruitment and detained her.
On Friday, the ED carried out major raids at the residence of Chatterjee and Mukherjee along with several others as a part of the probe for the alleged recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff in the state-run schools through the School Service Commission (SSC). TMC leader was the education minister at the time of this alleged scam.

Apart from Chatterjee and Mukherjee, the ED raided Minister of State for Education Paresh C Adhikary, MLA Manik Bhattacharya and others. Partha Chatterjee was grilled by the CBI twice in the month of May for the investigation of this alleged scam.
TMC’s secretary general, Chatterjee was summoned by the CBI after a divisional bank of the Calcutta Supreme Court upheld orders from a single bank that instructed the central investigation agency to investigate alleged illegal appointments.
