Days Before Delhi Elections, 8 AAP MLAs Quit Party

Just  days ahead of the Delhi election, Eight Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs resigned from the party. BS Joon (Bijwasan), Naresh Yadav (Mehrauli), Rohit Kumar (Trilokpuri), Pawan Sharma (Adarsh Nagar), Madan Lal (Kasturba Nagar), Bhawna Goud (Palam), Rajesh Rishi (Janakpuri) and Girish Soni (Madipur) are eight MLAs who have resigned.

On February 5, the AAP party announced Mahender Chaudhary as their candidate from Mehrauli and replaced Naresh Yadav, who had earlier fought the election from Mehrauli’s seat and represented his constituency for 10 years.

In his resignation letter, Naresh Yadav said the party had abandoned its principle of politics.

Trilokpuri MLA Rohit Kumar Mehraulia posted on his X account, “He joined AAP during the Anna Hazare-led movement against corruption, hoping to secure social justice for the Dalit and Valmiki communities.”

“The activities that have been going on in the Aam Aadmi Party for a long time, the issues which become a subject of criticism, such as ‘Sheeshmahal’. Being disappointed by all these issues, I am resigning from all the responsibilities and the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party,” Girish Soni shared on X.
