Delhi MLA Accuses Delhi Police Of Framing Him In False Case

On Wednesday, AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan alleged that the Delhi police is framing him in a false case and he is not on the run.

Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan wrote an email to Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, stating: “Some people in the Delhi Police are implicating me in a false case. The person whom the Delhi Police had come to arrest is (out) on bail. The police are implicating me in a false case to hide its mistake,”

“I am in my Assembly constituency; I am not in hiding. The person whom the Delhi police came to arrest is out on bail. The police are implicating me in this false case to hide their mistake.” Khan told the police in a letter on Wednesday.

However, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast), Ravi Kumar Singh, denied that they had received any email. He said, “I have not received any such letter. The investigation is underway; we are trying to track him (Amanatullah Khan). We have not been able to establish any communication with him so far,”

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya Slams Bengaluru Metro Fare Hike

Tejal Verma

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya called the recent hike in Bengaluru metro’s fare a burden on the middle-class.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, the MP from Bengaluru South said the increased price of metro tickets makes it the most expensive metro network in the country.

BJP MP said, “I urge authorities to reconsider the fare structure and introduce a more reasonable pricing system to ensure accessibility for the common man,”

He further added : “While commuters in Delhi pay Rs 30 for a 12 km ride, Bengaluru will have to pay Rs 60 – double the amount. A 50% hike with a maximum fare going from Rs 60 to Rs 90 is totally unjustified. No other metro in the country charges this high, nothing beyond Rs 60 and the hike is extremely steep.”

In the new fare structure the travel cost in metro started from Rs 10 for journeys up to 2 km, Rs 20 for 2-4 km, Rs 30 for 4-6 km, Rs 40 for 6-8 km, Rs 50 for 8-10 km, Rs 60 for 10-12 km, Rs 70 for 15-20 km, Rs 80 for 20-25 km, and Rs 90 for journeys 25 km and beyond.
