DG BSF visit Jammu frontier, takes stock of security arrangements

Jammu: K K Sharma, Director General BSF visited the forward border areas of Jammu and Rajouri area and took stock of the security arrangements during his two days visit to Jammu.

On 29th Match, he along with K N Chaubey, Addl DG, Western Command and Ramavtar, IG Jammu visited the forward Border outposts of the international border to review the progress of the CIBMS (Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System).

In the first phase, the CIBMS is being undertaken at two different stretches as a pilot project while in the second phase it would be covering the entire IB of Jammu Frontier.

On 30th March, the DG addressed a Sainik Sammelan at the Frontier HQrs in which he met the jawans and praised their dedication towards the safeguarding of International border.

The motivated Bordermen met with their Chief with full enthusiasm and zeal. The DG was particularly appreciative of specific intelligence provided by BSF regarding the location of the terrorists in Sunderbani which resulted into the elimination of the 4 terrorists by the security forces in a very clean and successful operation.

DG BSF also praised the troops of SHQ Sunderbani due to whose alertness a big incident and mishappening could be averted.

After the Sainik Sammelan, the DG visited Sunderbani and forward LC area of Rajouri before leaving for Ftr HQ BSF Srinagar.

The visit of DG was aimed at checking the operational readiness of BSF on borders and to see the progress of the infrastructure which is coming up at the borders as well as the HQrs.

Besides inaugurating the Administrative block at a forward post, he also laid the foundation stone for an assembly hall at BSF Sr Secondary School at Paloura, Jammu.
