Former IISc Director Balaram and 16 others filed a case against Infosys co-founder Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan on Monday under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act.
Durgappa, the complainant, is a former faculty member at the Centre for Sustainable Technology at the Indian Institute of Science IISc professor who belongs to the tribal Bovi community.
Durgappa claimed that in the year 2014, he was falsely implicated in a honey trap case.
Durgappa also alleged that he was subjected to casteist abuse and threats.
The case has been registered at Sadashiva Nagar police station.
The accused in this case include Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandhya Vishwswaraih, Hari K V S, Dasappa, Balaram P, Hemalata Mhishi, Chattopadhyay K, Pradeep D Sawkar, and Manoharan.
There has been no reaction from Kris Gopalakrishnan, who is also serving on the IISc Board of Trustees, so far.
