Abhay Thakur Named Indiaโ€™s New Ambassador To Myanmar

Abhay Thakur, currently serving as an Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been designated as Indiaโ€™s forthcoming ambassador to Myanmar, as per the MEAโ€™s announcement on Tuesday. Thakur, a 1992-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, previously held the role of sous-sherpa during Indiaโ€™s G20 presidency. His appointment to Myanmar, a nation grappling with conflict, is significant.
