Canada’s Increase in GIC Could Affect Indian Students

Canada recently raised the Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) limit from 10,000 to 20,635 Canadian dollars, impacting Indian students planning to study abroad. This change, coupled with speculation about a potential cap on international students in 2024, adds financial strain. The cost-of-living requirement increase means Indian students must now deposit around Rs 13 lakh, up from Rs 6 lakh.
