India Disburses Initial $2.5 Million For Palestinian Refugee Aid

India has disbursed $2.5 million to UNRWA, half of its annual $5 million contribution for 2024-25. UNRWA has provided aid to Palestinian refugees since 1950 and continues its work amid the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. The announcement was made by India’s Representative Office in Ramallah.

Electricity prices in Tamil Nadu are set to rise from July 1, affecting consumers who will now pay more per unit. The Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) announced a 4.83% tariff increase. Rates for usage up to 400 units rise from Rs 4.60 to Rs 4.80, and from Rs 6.15 to Rs 6.45 for 401-500 units.
