Kenyaโs Kelvin Kiptum, holder of the menโs marathon world record at 24, tragically passed away in a car accident in western Kenya, along with his coach, Rwandaโs Gervais Hakizimana, on Sunday. Kiptum emerged as a notable rival to Eliud Kipchoge, achieving a milestone in 2023 by surpassing Kipchogeโs record in Chicago. Both athletes were selected for Kenyaโs tentative marathon team for the upcoming Paris Olympics.
