Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari, has made a historic decision to officially acknowledge his 31-year-old daughter, Aseefa Bhutto, as the First Lady of the country, reports suggest. Traditionally, the role of First Lady is held by the President’s wife, but Zardari became a widower following the assassination of his wife and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in 2007. Zardari chose not to remarry, leaving the position of First Lady vacant during his first presidential term from 2008 to 2013.
