Taiwan’s weather administration reported a 5.5-magnitude earthquake in Hualien on Monday, with no initial damage reports. The quake shook Taipei’s buildings and had a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles). Earlier, a 7.2-magnitude quake in Hualien caused 14 deaths, and Taiwan has experienced numerous aftershocks since then.
