Mumbai Police Traffic Control has received a message alerting them to a potential new terror strike like 26/11 in the nation.
Mumbai: Authorities said on Saturday that the Mumbai Police Traffic Control had received a message alerting them to a potential new terror strike in the nation’s commercial metropolis. The threats were made in a WhatsApp message, purportedly from a neighbouring country, but it was unclear who made them or when the attack would happen.
The statement further asserts that the upcoming attack will bring back memories of the city’s 26/11 terrorist attacks by 10 heavily armed Pakistani fanatics. The threat message stated that six people will execute the plan in India, said the sources.
Ajit Pawar, the leader of the opposition for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), urged the state administration to investigate and take the threat seriously.
The state experienced a serious security scare two days prior when a yacht loaded with ammunition floated to the Raigad coast at Harihareshwar Beach.
Though a potential terror threat was ruled out, a detailed investigation is being carried out by the ATS and Raigad Police. Other Intelligence and Central agencies have been roped in.
