10 Points To Know As India Gears Up For Unlock 2 After Three Months of Lockdown

New Delhi| From July 1 onwards, the second phase of unlock has started in the country. Though nothing major change has been proposed in Unlock 2, in some sectors it provides more relaxations. The recent move of relaxing the lockdown restrictions comes after 2 months of stringent lockdown and unlock phase one that lasted for three weeks.

It must be noted that while India is gradually reopening its economy to infuse the sense of normalcy, the cases of Coronavirus are increasing. In the month of June, the cases of Coronavirus in the country rose by over 3,00,000 to touch 5.8 Lakh mark. At the beginning of Unlock 2, India has 585493 Coronavirus cases and 17400 deaths.

Here are the 10 points to know as Unlock-2 rolls out today:

  • Shops depending upon their area can have more than 5 persons at a time. However, they have
    to maintain adequate physical distance.

 

  • Training institutions of the Central and State Governments will be allowed to function with
    an effect from July 15, 2020.

 

  • Schools, colleges and coaching institutions will remain closed till July 31, 2020.

 

  • Night curfew timings are being further relaxed and curfew shall be in force from 10.00 pm to
    5.00 am. Further, relaxations in night curfew have been given for the seamless operation of
    industrial units in multiple shifts, movement of persons and goods on National and State
    Highways, loading and unloading of cargo and movement of persons to their destinations after
    disembarking from buses, trains and aeroplanes.

  • All activities, except metro rail services, shall be permitted outside containment zones. Cinema halls, gymnasiums, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places to remain closed.

 

  • Social/ political/ sports/ entertainment/ academic/ cultural/ religious functions and other large congregations not allowed.

 

  • Containment Zones will be notified on the websites of the respective District Collectors and by the States/UTs. Activities in the Containment Zones shall be monitored strictly by the State/UT authorities.

 

  • No restriction on inter-State and intra-State movement of persons and goods. No separate permission/ approval/ e-permit will be required for such movements.

 

  • Vulnerable persons, i.e., persons above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women, and children below the age of 10 years, are advised to stay at home, except for meeting essential requirements and for health purposes.

 

  • According to information received from the railways, from today the waiting ticket will be stopped from and the Indian Railways will only issue confirmed tickets.
