3900 Cases, 195 Deaths: India Sees Biggest Hike In COVID-19 Tally In a Day

India has reported over 3,900 COVID-19 cases in last 24 hrs amid national lockdown alarming the governments across the country.

New Delhi| The total cases in India surged to 46,433 including over 12,000 cured/discharged or migrated and 1,568 deaths amid lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19.

In the past 24 hours, 195 casualties were recorded, highest so far.

A staggering 3,900 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of cases in Maharashtra– the worst affected state by the virus, has climbed to 14,541 with 521 deaths.

Mumbai figures also jumped past 9,000-mark.

Follows Gujarat with 5,804 cases of highly infectious coronavirus, second highest in the country.

Tamil Nadu witnessed the sharpest hike in fresh cases as 527 novel coronavirus cases were recorded in past 24 hrs.

Across the country, over 12,000 patients have cured so far the recovery rate stood at 25%.

A total of 280 government laboratories in the country is conducting tests for the novel coronavirus, the Indian Council of Medical Research has said. ICMR also issued a list of 90 private labs which will conduct the testing.

Globally, the total number of COVID-19 cases topped 3,500,000 while the death toll crossed 247,000, as per the latest data from Johns Hopkins University.

The United States has entered into a grim situation as it recorded its one-millionth case of COVID-19, about one-third of the entire world’s caseload, as per Johns Hopkins University data.
