Damoh| In Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district, a 6-year-old girl was raped by an unidentified man, who also damaged her eyes, informed a police official on Thursday.
The said incident occurred in Jabera Tehsil of Domah district when the girl was playing with other children outside her house.
“At that time, an unidentified person took the girl to an isolated place and raped her there,” Hemant Chauhan, District Superintendent of Police said.
The victim was found in an abandoned structure located near her house, nearly 55 KMs away from the district headquarters, he further added.
“We found that her eyes were damaged by the accused, who also inflicted injuries on her face. We rushed the victim to a hospital in Jabera tehsil in a critical condition. From there she was taken to a hospital in Jabalpur, where doctors are operating on her eyes,” Chauhan informed.
Answering the question on whether her eyes were damaged, Chauhan said that as per the local doctor, the girl’s eyes were swollen so much that he couldn’t check her retinas.
He also said that police have started the hunt to nab the culprit, who is suspected to be a local president.
