Last year, Baba Ramdev had claimed that his Patanjali Ayurveda had developed Coronil medicine to treat Covid-19 patients.
Rishikesh| Coronavirus has now entered Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali Yoga Peeth. According to reports, as many as 83 staffers of Patanjali Ayurved have been found Covid-19 positive. These staffers belong to three different institutions run by Baba Ramdev. Among the 83 infected, 46 have been found in Patanjali Yoga Peeth, 28 in Yoga Grams and 9 in Acharyakulam.
As per the local reports, these infected are isolated in the Patanjali complex in Haridwar itself. Authorities further said that if needed, Baba Ramdev’s coronavirus test can also be done. Meanwhile, the high number of Covid-19 positive staffers has brought the administration to action. The Department of Health is engaged in conducting contact tracing of those infected.

Last year, Baba Ramdev had claimed that his Patanjali Ayurveda had developed Coronil medicine to treat Covid-19 patients. He had also claimed that Coronil was approved by the Indian government and the World Health Organization (WHO). Ramdev also said that ‘Coronil’ is highly effective in boosting immunity and controlling Covid-19. However, later, WHO issued a clarification saying it had not given any approval to traditional medicines to treat Covid-19.
On the other hand, the cases of coronavirus in Uttarakhand are increasing steadily. Earlier, the OPD in AIIMS, Rishikesh was closed. Official sources said that due to increasing cases of Coronavirus it has been decided to temporarily close the OPD. Reportedly, the hospital has 200 beds for Covid patients, which can be increased to 500 if needed.
