Akhilesh Yadav says he will not contest UP assembly polls

Lucknow: The main opposition party, Samajwadi Party (SP) president, Akhilesh Yadav has made a big announcement about contesting the assembly elections. Akhilesh clearly said that he will not contest the assembly elections. Apart from this, Akhilesh has also commented on the alliance with RLD. Akhilesh said that the alliance with RLD and seat-sharing are to be discussed, a decision will be taken soon.

On the other hand, the main opposition party, Samajwadi Party (SP) is in full power to contest the assembly elections which is to be held in Uttar Pradesh (UP). Party President Akhilesh Yadav is creating an atmosphere in his favor by taking out Rath Yatra across the state.

Yadav wants to keep his entire focus on the preparations for the assembly elections. Perhaps this is the reason why Akhilesh has decided not to contest the assembly elections.

On the other hand, Akhilesh Yadav is a constant attacker on the Yogi government of UP. In a rally in Hardoi on Sunday, Akhilesh said that the Chief Minister has only two functions. Changing the names of works of one SP and construction of toilets. Akhilesh said that the UP government is inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for the works of the SP government. Akhilesh said that Yogi ji is a wonderful Chief Minister, who has not inaugurated any of his work.

Akhilesh compares Mahatma and Sardar Patel with Pakistan’s Jinnah

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday compared Pakistan’s Muhammad Ali Jinnah with Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, saying they all fought for India’s independence.

“Sardar Patel, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru and (Muhammad Ali) Jinnah studied in the same institute. They became barristers and fought for India’s freedom,” ANI quoted Akhilesh Yadav as saying at a public rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi.

“It was Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who imposed a ban on an ideology,” Akhilesh Yadav said, in an oblique reference to the RSS.

Akhilesh Yadav also attacked the Congress, saying there is no difference between the grand old party and the BJP.

“Investigation of Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) that is going on against us and other leaders is because of Congress only. There is no difference between them (BJP and Congress). Congress is BJP and BJP is Congress,” ANI quoted him as saying.

The Samajwadi Party is tied up with the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, which has influence over the Rajbhar voters of Poorvanchal, for next year’s Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
