Amit Shah conducts High Level meeting with NSA and other intelligence chiefs amidst rising tension in Kashmir

New Delhi| Home Minister Amit Shah is conducting a high-level meeting in the parliament premises. The meeting comes at a time when tension has gripped the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Reportedly, the high-level meeting is also attended by the intelligence chiefs. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Intelligence Bureau chief Arvind Kumar, RAW’s Samant Goel, Union home secretary Rajiv Gauba are present for the meeting.

On Friday, the Jammu and Kashmir govt issued an advisory to the Pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra. The advisory asked the people to cut short their stay and curtail the yatra. It also asked people to leave as soon as possible. The advisory came after Indian Army found ammunition and sniper rifle on the route of Amarnath Yatra.

On Saturday, the Indian Army foiled an attack by Pakistan’s Border Action Team (Known as BAT) on a forward post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector. The army killed five to seven infiltrators in this operation.

Last month, the government moved 10,000 troops of paramilitary forces to the valley. A week later, the govt moved another batch of 28,000 CAPF to the valley.

Meanwhile, the Indian Army has offered to the Pakistan military to take possession of bodies of its personnel who were killed when it foiled an attack by Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) in Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said Sunday.
