Amit Shah To Participate In UP BJPโ€™s Jan Vishvas Yatra Today

Lucknow: Ahead of 2022 UttarPradesh assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the Jan Vishvas Yatra taken by the BJP on Sunday.

Union Minister will also address the public attending rallies Kasganj and Jalaun. 

In a statement issued in Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh BJP said that Union Minister Shah will be participating in the Jan Vishvas Yatra and address public rallies in Kasganj and later in Jalaun.

Mr Shah will tour the state in the coming days and will cover more than 140 constituencies, sources said.

Keeping caste equations in mind, each programme will be attended by people from three OBC-dominated constituencies, two urban constituencies, one scheduled caste-dominated constituency and one minority-dominated constituency, they said.

Among the key features of Mr Shahโ€™s visit will be his late evening meetings with party workers to deliberate on strategies for the upcoming elections, they said It was under the leadership of Mr Shah as BJP chief that the party had won a massive majority in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, and won 67 Lok Sabha seats out of 80 in 2019.

In 2014, when he was Uttar Pradesh in-charge, the BJP had won 73 Lok Sabha seats.

Kishanganj (Bihar) | Congress MP and Islamic cleric Maulana Asrarul Haq Qasmi died of a heart attack at his village home in Kishanganj district on Friday, family members said. He was 76 and is survived by two sons and three daughters.

A former state president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hindi and member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Qasmi had won the Kishanganj seat for the first time in 2009 Lok Sabha polls and went on to retain the seat five years later.

In his condolence message, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said โ€œQasmi was known for probity in politics and his simplicity of heart. He was deeply interested in social work and enjoyed immense popularity in his constituency. โ€œHe had also played an important role in establishment of an extension campus of Aligarh Muslim University extension
campus in Kishanganj.โ€

The chief minister announced that Qasmis last rites will be performed with full state honours. RJD president Lalu Prasad issued a condolence message through his close aide Bhola Yadav, saying with the death of Qasmi, Bihar has lost an able and dedicated MP.
