Ayodhya case: “Complete hearing by Oct 18 or else no hope for verdict,” says CJI Gogoi

Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that if the hearing is not over by October 18, then the chance of passing judgment will be over.

New Delhi| The Supreme Court is conducting a daily trial in the Ram Janmabhoomi and Babri Masjid cases in Ayodhya. Today marked the 32nd day of hearing in the Supreme Court. When the hearing started in the Ayodhya case, CJI Ranjan Gogoi gave his opinion.

CJI Ranjan Gogoi said on Thursday that all parties should complete their arguments by October 18. If there is a delay in this matter then the hope of the verdict is over. The hearing of this case must be over by October 18. Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi is retiring on November 17.

Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi said that if the hearing is not over by October 18, then the chance of passing judgment will be over. During the hearing, the Chief Justice said that including today (Thursday), we have only 10 and a half days left to finish the hearing.

It is noteworthy that today is the thirty-second day of the ongoing hearing on the Ayodhya case in the Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court. Yesterday, the Muslim side described the ASI’s excavation report on the disputed land as untrustworthy. The Supreme Court had asked him that when he did not object to the High Court during the trial, then why should the Supreme Court consider it during the hearing of the appeal.

The Allahabad High Court, in its 2010 order, had evenly distributed 2.77 acres of this disputed land between Ram Lala, Nirmohi Akhara and Sunni Waqf Board.
