Bharat Bandh Today: Shops, Malls To Be Closed, Train Services Likely To Be Affected

Kisan Morcha says that this time the Bharat bandh will be bigger. Along with the closure of shops, malls, markets, all small and big roads and trains will be stopped.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha has called a Bharat Bandh on Friday to mark the completion of 4 months of the ongoing Kisan agitation against agricultural laws. According to the Morcha, representatives of various farmers’ organizations, trade unions, student organizations, bar associations, political parties and state governments of the country have supported their bandh. The bandh will be in effect from 6 am to 6 pm.

Kisan Morcha says that this time the bandh will be bigger. Along with the closure of shops, malls, markets, all small and big roads and trains will be stopped. Ambulance and essential services will continue during this period.

Blockade will be effective in the capital as well

The farmers have called for the shutdown demanding the repeal of all three agricultural laws, enactment of law for crop purchase on MSP, ending all cases filed against farmers, withdrawing electricity and pollution bills and lowering prices of diesel, petrol and gas, etc.

The United Front says that the roads on which the farmers are agitating near Delhi are already closed. Alternative routes that have been created will also be closed. The organization has appealed to the farmers to make the protest successful in peace. The statement issued by the Kisan Morcha said that the protesters should not get involved in any kind of debate and controversy.

CAT To Not Participate In Bandh

The National General Secretary of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAT), Pravin Khandelwal, has said that traders have asked about the Bharat Bandh of some farmer organizations. He said, “On behalf of 40 thousand trade organizations of the country, CAT makes it clear that all the business establishments will be open in Delhi and all over the country. Neither a farmer organization has spoken to us to support the Bharat Bandh nor do we support the bandh itself. We believe that the deadlock between the farmers and the government should be resolved through dialogue.”
