“BJP Have Destroyed Gujarat, PM Modi Will Lose Election If He Contests From There” Says Rakesh Tikait At Kisan Mahapanchayat

On Sunday, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait said that PM Modi will lose the election if he contests from Gujarat as the BJP has “destroyed the state”.

Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Sunday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will “lose the poll if he contests from Gujarat as BJP have destroyed Gujarat and converted it into a police state.”

The BKU leader addressed the Kisan Mahapanchayat in Muzaffarnagar on Sunday, in which thousands of farmers from UP and neighbouring states showed up in a show of strength after Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) called for the massive gathering to protest against the Centre’s three farm laws.

Later, Rakesh Tikait left his home district, after the mahapanchayat and joined the protesting farmers at the Ghazipur border.

Speaking to India Today TV from inside his makeshift tent at Ghazipur, Tikait termed the mahapanchayat ‘historic’ and successful.

“Parliament of this country has turned deaf. Naturally, the citizens will have to hit the streets and shout to make sure they [Centre] listen to our demands,” Tikait said, emphasising the need for a show of strength in the agrarian belt which is now believed to be the BJP bastion.

“We can make the government listen to our demands either by voting in their favour or by reducing its vote bank. This government is not listening to the farmers. Hence, we will dent their electoral prospects.”

Meanwhile, the SKM, has launched their ‘Mission UP’ and has announced to “ruin the BJP’s electoral prospects.” Tikait, has also appealed to the masses to uproot the saffron party not only from UP but from other states in the country.

The aim of the Muzzaffarnagar’s mahapanchayat was to put pressure on the BJP ahead of the crucial Uttar Pradesh polls in 2022. The farmers hold the key in West UP and their mass movement for or against any political party can sway the mood of the assembly polls.
