New Delhi| In a new order on Sunday, the Indian Railways had announced its decision to run AC coaches of passenger trains from Delhi to 10 major cities of the country from 12th May. This will be an addition to the Shramik trains that are already being run to ferry migrants back to their home states from the states they were stranded in. Bookings for these new trains will begin shortly on the IRCTC website. A pop up on the IRCTC website shows that the bookings will start at 18:00 hrs (6 pm) on Monday.
On Monday, the ministry of railways said, “Data pertaining to special trains is being fed on the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website. Train ticket bookings will be available in a short while. Please wait. Inconvenience is regretted.”
The statement was given in reference to the incident of the IRCTC website crashing because of the heavy traffic on the website.
According to the final timetable provided, 8 trains will be running from May 12. The trains are as follows-
