BREAKING: Lockdown Extended For Two More Weeks

The lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19 has been extended by two more weeks, and will now go on till May 17 said Home Ministry.

The decision was declared after the conclusion of a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the fourth meeting in 2 days.

The total cases in India surged to 35,043, including 8,888 cured/discharged/migrated and 1,147 deaths as India is in the final days of the 40-day lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19.

In the past 24 hours, 73 casualties were recorded, highest so far.

A staggering 1,993 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of cases in Maharashtra– the worst affected state by the virus, has climbed to 10,498 with 459 deaths.

Globally, the total number of COVID-19 cases neared 3,200,000 while the death toll crossed 233,000, as per the latest data from Johns Hopkins University.
