Bulandshahr: US-Bound MBA Scholar Dies In Road Accident Trying To Avoid Molestation

Sudiksha Bhati had recently returned to her hometown Bulandshahr during the lockdown. The family alleges that some men riding a bike chased her and were molesting her.

 

Bulandshahr| A US-bound scholar lost her life in a road accident while trying to avoid molesters in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr. The heart-wrenching incident has once again put a question mark on the security of women in the state of Uttar Pradesh ruled by the BJP.

The incident took place near Charaura Mustafabad village on Garh Highway at 11 AM on Monday. Sudiksha Bhati had recently returned to her hometown during the lockdown. The family alleges that some men riding a bike chased her and were molesting her. Sudiksha’s uncle who was accompanying her when the incident took place has also been seriously injured in the accident. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Meanwhile, BSP supremo Mayawati has condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the accused.

Sudiksha Was Visiting Her Uncle’s House:

The family says, Sudiksha was going to her uncle’s house in Madhavgarh on a scooty with her uncle Nigam Bhati. They reached near the turn of Charaura Mustafabad village on Bulandshahr-Garh highway where the scooter collided with a bullet rider. 17-year-old Sudiksha died on the spot in the accident whereas her uncle Nigam were seriously injured. The bullet riders fled the spot after the accident. Police rushed to the spot and took her uncle to the hospital. Sudiksha’s body was then sent for postmortem. As per reports, the Bike riders were constantly following the scooty and were trying to overtake it.

Family Says Molestors Were Chasing the Scooty

Sudiksha’s family alleges that the man riding the Bullet was repeatedly overtaking Scooty. He came in front of Scooty at the Chaurara turn and suddenly hit the brakes. Her uncle lost control of the Scooty and both fell down. Sudiksha died at the spot whereas her uncle was grievously injured.

Sudiksha was studying in the US

Sudiksha had received a scholarship from the Government of India. She was doing a course in business management at Bobson College, USA. She had also received a scholarship of Rs 3.80 crore from HCL last year. Sudiksha had returned to India in the month of June following lockdown and was to return to the US on August 20.
