Delhi Police to file final report related to Sunanda Pushkar death in a week

New Delhi: The Delhi police told the supreme court on Monday that it will file the final report on Sunanda Pushkar’s death within a week.

Sunanda Pushkar, wife of Congress leader Sashi Tharoor was found dead in a five-star hotel in Delhi on the night of January 17, 2014 under mysterious circumstances.

Earlier Delhi Police, in its affidavit filed in the Supreme Court, has said that a draft final report has been sent to the prosecution department of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi for “legal scrutiny” and it would be filed in the concerned trial court after being vetted.

On February 23 the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Delhi Police on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy’s appeal challenging the Delhi High Court order dismissing his plea for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into Sunanda death case. On the same day, Tharoor said he was looking for a conclusion in his wife’s death case.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has asked for more time to file its reply in the matter.
