Extremist groups shift to Google plus to spread hate propoganda: Report

New Delhi | The Extremist ideology groups are now moving towards Google Plus after stringent policies against violent content on Facebook and Twitter.

According to media reports, extremists group are now moving to the platform to popularise their propaganda. Dozens of Google Plus communities are openly posting explicitly racist and anti-Semitic content. Acknowledging the issue, Google said it has “more to do” in order to properly address it and had put dedicated teams in place to do so.

The Company stressed on they have clear policies against such content and take necessary action in case violations are found. Google further stated that it was committed to keeping violent content and hate speech off their platforms, including Google+, and a dedicated team was put in place to do just that. Reports further stated that a Google Plus member sharing such violent content had more than 600 followers.
