Bengaluru| With the President’s Assent to Farm Bills 2020, effectively making them into laws, the protests against Farm Laws have also intensified. Apart from Punjab and Haryana, farmers in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have also taken to streets to protest.

In Bengaluru, several farm outfits have called for a day-long total shutdown today. This call is also supported by Congress, Janata Dal (Secular) and other political outfits including Labour organisations, pro-Kannada groups. Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene staged a protest outside the town hall in Bengaluru. Some farmers also sat on the roads in Hubli to stop the buses as bandh has been called.
Meanwhile, in Tamil Nadu DMK has been leading the farmers’ agitation. DMK Chief MK Stalin said that the party is leading protests in 3500 spots across the states.
