FIR Against Akali Leader Bikram Majithia In Drugs Case

Mohali: The Congress government of Punjab has registered a case against Akali Dal leader and former minister Bikram Majithia in a drug case. According to the information, a case has been registered against the leader in the State Crime Cell of Mohali.

The Punjab Police has registered a case against Akali Dal leader Bikram Majithia based on the investigation report of the STF in the drugs case. As per the sources, the leader can be arrested at any moment. 

Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu was continuously pressurizing Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi to investigate Majithia. At the same time, now the SIT case formed under the leadership of AIG will be investigated. It is being told that on the report of AG, the investigation of the seven-year-old case is being reopened.

Virsa Singh Valtoha believes that Bikram is being trapped, under such allegations. In this case, Akali Dal leader, Virsa Singh Valtoha says that Majithia is being implicated in false allegations. He said that the Channi government does not have any issue, so now they are creating new controversy. 

Virsa Singh further said that 4 ADGPs of the Bureau of Investigation had refused, after which the Channi government changed the DGP and now the action is being taken.

The six thousand crore rupees drug case in which Bikram Majithia’s name appeared, has been settled in the court. Recently, this matter came into the limelight when ADGP SK Asthana suddenly went on medical leave. After which some parts of his letter to the DGP were also leaked. In which he had said that Majithia cannot be acted upon like this.

This case has been registered under sections 25, 27A and 29 of the NDPS Act. Under these sections, the police can arrest Majithia at any time. IA sequentially know how and when Bikram Singh Majithia’s name surfaced in the drug case

The assembly elections are to be held in the state next year, regarding which the government and the opposition are trying their best. BJP can contest on 80-85 seats out of 117 seats in Punjab. Captain Amarinder Singh’s party can contest from 20 to 25 seats, with some seats going to Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa’s party. Soon the entire alliance will be finalized.
