FIR Filed Against Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Three Others In Horse-Trading Issue

“If it seems that the Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat can influence the investigation, then a warrant should be issued against him,” Surjewala said.

Jaipur|After the explosive audio tapes of horse-trading in Rajasthan, the state politics has heated up more. Rajasthan’s Special Operation Group (SOG) has filed a case against Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Congress MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma and BJP leader Sanjay Jain. An FIR was filed following a complaint by Congress chief whip Mahesh Joshi.

Shekhawat clarified that the voice in the audiotape is not his. He said that he is ready for any inquiry. At the same time, Rajasthan BJP President Satish Poonia said that what is happening in the state’s politics will be called shameful. “The Chief Minister’s office is trying to tarnish the image of the leaders through fake audio. The Union Minister is also being dragged into this matter,” he said.

Congress Expels Two MLAs

The Congress held a press conference outside the Fairmont Hotel where Congress MLAs are lodged on Friday after the audio of horse-trading in Rajasthan was exposed. Party Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, State Congress President Govind Singh Dotsara were present for the Press Conference.

Surjewala said that the audiotapes prove BJP was trying to buy the loyalty of MLAs for Rs 25-35 crores. “The role of BJP leaders in this is under suspicion. From the tapes which have come out yesterday evening and till date, one thing is clear that the BJP attempted to topple the Gehlot government and buy the MLAs,” Surjewala said.

Surjewala also said that the investigation into the audio tapes should be started. “If it seems that the Union Minister can influence the investigation, then a warrant should be issued against him and he should be arrested,” he said.
